Fresh Green Salad

The Holy Week is a time for continuous prayer and deep reflection. In solemn observance of this period, most of us also abstain from enjoying indulgent food, especially meals containing meat.

Here at Life Made Easy, we’ve always been sharing recipes that are satisfying and flavorful, but for this week, we’re going for simple dishes that are light, healthy, and totally guilt-free – perfect for the Lenten season.

Today, we’re making a green salad that’s refreshing, nutritious, and can be done in just minutes!

Fresh Green Salad

You’ll need:
½ leaf lettuce
½ head romaine lettuce
1 pc. medium white onion
2-3 pc. medium tomatoes
½ each of red, yellow, and green bell pepper
300g silken tofu

For the dressing:
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
juice of 1 lemon
2 tbsp white wine vinegar
¼ tsp of red pepper flakes
Salt & pepper to taste

Let’s prep!

1. Cut the lettuce leaves into bite-size pieces using the 8” Chef Knife and cutting board of the Masflex 14pc. Knife Block Set.

2. Switch to the 8” Slicing Knife and slice the onion crosswise to get a few onion rings. Slice the tomatoes into wedges, the bell peppers into thin strips, and the tofu into cubes.

3. Combine the dressing ingredients in a separate container with a tight lid. Shake until well combined.

4. Layer the salad ingredients onto a bowl, and drizzle with dressing. Toss until the salad is well coated with the dressing.

O Tip! This recipe is made completely without animal products – making it also perfect for vegans!
